It was an interesting conversation, the one I had with Veronica Yoko Plebani.
She pointed out how disability is too often seen through the lenses of either victimism or heroism. The middle-ground and the normalization of accessibility is instead what we are looking for: the standard for products and services should be for them to be used easily by everyone, irrespective of temporary or permanent conditions.
“Today, public services must also be provided in digital format. However, in order to truly be a service, they must be usable, accessible, consistent, familiar, and available to everyone. The challenge lies in finding digital design solutions that meet all these requirements.”
